Nottingham audience captivated by tense thriller

James Dearden took on the brave job of producing the smash-hit film Fatal Attraction on the stage, and did so with great success.

The stage version of the tense thriller attracted a good crowd to the opening night at the Theatre Royal Nottingham on Tuesday.

The famous film was out in the late 1980s and this new version had some suitable additions for a 21st Century audience.

It followed the story of happily-married New York attorney Dan Gallagher, played by Oliver Farnworth, as he shared a night of passion that was not so easily forgotten by one member of the party as the fling turns to obsession.

Oliver stole the show and played the role convincingly, putting every ounce of emotion into the performance.

Dan’s wife, Beth, played by Susie Amy in the psychological thriller, also impressed and made the role her own as she got the audience on-side.

The role of the obsessive other woman, Alex Forrester, belonged Kym Marsh and she also had the audience second guessing themselves.

With showings running until Saturday, it is one that you should take advantage of — CT
