Vicky McClure revealed as special guest for Gloworm Festival at Holme Pierrepont Country Park

A family festival is set to welcome thousands of visitors for an unforgettable weekend with TV stars, music, workshops and character meet and greets.

Gloworm Festival will take place at Holme Pierrepont Country Park from August 16 to 18 — and Vicky McClure MBE has now been revealed as a special guest coming to the festival for the first time.

The BAFTA award winning actor from Nottingham will share one of her favourite tales for CBeebies Bedtime Stories, and will be joined on the reading rota by CBeebies presenters Maddie Moate and Andy Day, with other special guests joining the starry line up over the weekend.

Based on the children’s TV show that has seen celebrities from Tom Hardy to Dolly Parton read to children each night, CBeebies Bedtime Stories at the festival runs throughout the daytime as well.

Headliners Maddie Moate, N-Trance and Andy Day lead the main stage action with more than 33 acts providing family entertainment from 10am to 10pm each day.

Also on the main stage are Sublime Science, Playmobil Rave and live music from Take That Tribute, Spice World, DJ Nathan Hadley, Bhangra pop artist Sohan Kailey, Lolly, Noasis, Katy Ellis Taylor Swift Tribute and DJ Pat Sharpe.

Away from the main stage, there is loads for families to see and do, including have-a-go circus skills, mud kitchens, mini golf, kayaking, archery, and DJ and beatboxing workshops among many more.

The Care Bears will be on hand to spread good vibes in the chill-out zone, while children can try out a range of play in the Playmobil Village and Smoby Playzone.
