Batman back to protect city

It is eight years after the fateful events of The Dark Knight, the death of DA Dent and Batman’s subsequent fall from grace.

The Dark Knight Rises (12A) finds Gotham City enjoying a peaceful era that is brought to an abrupt halt by the arrival of Bane.

He is a sinister and powerful adversary who forces Batman out of retirement to confront a new threat to law and order.

Christian Bale again dons the cape in the action-packed thriller.

The film features Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Tom Hardy, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard and Anne Hathaway.
