BBC Concert Band performs the CBeebies Prom and BBC Philharmonic is Discovering Glazunov at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall
The BBC is coming to Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall with two concerts that will appeal to all ages.
On Sunday (May 26) the BBC Concert Orchestra will present the CBeebies Prom with two performances at 11am and 2pm.
It is all aboard for a fun-filled CBeebies musical ocean adventure.
On the big screen Andy is ready to report from an adventure in his submarine pod, plus CBeebies favourites JoJo and Gran Gran are on board with a ‘Gran Gran Plan’ for everyone.
Join the Ocean Adventure crew, including CBeebies friends Rory Crawford and Puja Panchkoty (Jen from Andy’s Adventures) to search for endangered creatures, find out fascinating facts, and collect sounds and pictures for your very own musical ocean scrapbook.
The magical multi-media event featuring CBeebies theme tunes, orchestral treats, live action film, animation and a few surprises along the way.
Then on Friday (May 31) the BBC Philharmonic is at the venue with Discovering Glazunov, conducted by Martyn Brabbins.
Broadcaster Stephen Johnson will present an insightful introduction to Glazunov’s engaging and tuneful Fourth Symphony with live musical illustrations from the BBC Philharmonic, before a performance of the complete work.
The concert also features one of his most popular ballet scores: the joyful bacchanalian Autumn from The Seasons has become known to millions of TV viewers from its use as the theme tune to the Richard Dimbleby Lectures.
