The autumn programme at Farnsfield Acoustic opens on Saturday, September 25, with a return visit by Ric Sanders and Vo Fletcher.

Ric is the virtuoso violinist with Fairport Convention, and is renowned in the music industry as one of the very best.

His style switches at will from jazz to rock, folk and baroque, and he has performed with many leading artists, including Rick Wakeman and David Swarbrick, the man who invented the folk rock fiddle style.

Guitarist Vo is a friend from the days when both were members of the Albion Band and played on the album Rise Up Like The Sun, a seminal work of folk music.

They will be followed on Saturday, October 16, by a visit from Steve Ashley, long regarded as one of Britain’s finest singer songwriters and performers steeped in the English tradition, writing the popular Fire And Wine.

Saturday, November 27, will see new faces at Farnsfield, when Welsh trio Uiscedwr take to the stage.

The name is Welsh for water of life and their sound is acknowledged as one of the most thrilling in modern British folk music.

With Anna Esslemont on fiddle and vocals and Cormac Byrne on percussion, their sound is backed by the driving guitar of either James Hickman or Nick Waldock.

The multiple award-winners take pride in their musical mix and high energy performance, and present an irresistible musical mix.

All these performances will be at Farnsfield Village Centre.

The run-up to Christmas sees a return of St Agnes Fountain for a two-day spot at Thoresby Riding Hall on December 17 and 18.

In the four years the show has visited Thoresby, it has never failed to sell out.

This quartet is one of the most popular bands on the Christmas circuit, and comprises duo Chris While and Julie Matthews on guitars, keyboards and vocals, Fairport Convention multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter Chris Leslie on violin, mandolin and cittern, and Essex singer/ songwriter David Hughes on vocals and guitar.
