Ian Ashpitel & Jonty Stephens will Bring Us Sunshine as Eric & Ern
Morecambe and Wise have long been a household name, bringing sunshine to families’ living rooms up and down the UK for many years. Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens have spent years perfecting their recreation of these idols and are bringing Ian Ashpitel & Jonty Stephens as Eric & Ern to New Theatre Royal Lincoln on Tuesday 19 October.
Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens began their double act in comedy clubs, before being backed by producers who took the show to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013. The show was directed by Owen Lewis and after a few previews in London, the play opened at The Edinburgh Fringe, to rave reviews and a sell-out run.
The show then went on a hugely successful tour, which culminated in its first West End run in the Christmas of 2013 at the Vaudeville Theatre, again to rave reviews and standing ovations.
“Eric and Little Ern” written and performed by Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens was nominated for an Olivier Award in 2014. Along the way the boys appeared on several TV and radio shows and have recently appeared on The One Show.
Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens have perfected the art of replicating Morecambe and Wise, whether in their comic timing, the replication of their iconic sketches, or the chemistry between the two.
