Young performers needed for Nottingham Playhouse pantomime Dick Whittington

A call-out has gone out for young performers to joined the young chorus in this year’s eagerly awaited Nottingham Playhouse pantomime, Dick Whittington.

A workshop audition day will be held on June 12 with the aim of selecting two chorus teams.

Successful applicants will join Nottingham’s favourite dame, John Elkington as Sarah The Cook, alongside plucky Dick Whittington and his trusty cat in this magical rags to riches tale that runs over the Christmas season.

Previous Nottingham Playhouse Young Chorus member George Turton, 12, said: “Being in Beauty And The Beast was the best experience of my entire life.

"The build up, the group, the lights and the roar of the crowd put the seal on my passion to become an actor.”

To apply, budding performers must be aged nine to 15 years old as of November 2022.

They must be available in Nottingham for rehearsals and performances from October 31, 2022, to January 14, 2023.

No prior performance experience is needed just energy, enthusiasm and commitment.

The closing date for applicants is noon on June 5.

Dick Whittington will be staged at the Playhouse from November 25 to January 14.
