The cast of the world stage premiere of the sci-fi classic Minority Report has been announced.

The adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s original short story will premiere at the Nottingham Playhouse on February 16 and runs until March 9, after which the show will move on to Birmingham and London.

West End and Broadway director Max Webster takes the helm of the show, which features Jodie McNee as main character Julia, Nick Fletcher as George, Roseanna Frascona as Ana, Nicholas Rowe as Ralph and Tanvi Virmani as David, while Chrissy Brooke, Xenoa Campbell-Ledgister, Ricardo Castro and Danny Collins will form the ensemble cast.

This brand-new stage has been adapted by renowned writer and actor David Haig.

This is a co-production from Nottingham Playhouse with Simon Friend Entertainment — producers of the globally successful Life of Pi, and its award-winning director Max Webster — and in partnership with Birmingham Rep and Lyric Hammersmith Theatre.

The play questions ideas of justice and the power of choice and will create a world of breath-taking visuals and immersive storytelling.

Set in 2050, neuroscientist Dame Julia Anderton is about to launch the next phase of her pioneering ‘Pre-Crime’ programme, detaining people for crimes before they are committed.

But when Julia is accused of pre-murder, she’s in a race against time to save herself from her own system.

Max Webster, said: “I’m so thrilled we have this extraordinary cast to bring David Haig’s play to life.

“I can’t wait to start rehearsing with them in what promises to be a huge challenge of acting, technical staging and imagination.”

Minority Report at Nottingham Playhouse is sponsored by Nottingham Trent University and runs from February 16 to March 9.
