The Marvin Gaye Songbook coming to Newark Palace Theatre, led by West End and X Factor Star Nate Simpson
A West End and X Factor star is to bring a celebration of the Prince of Motown to Newark.
The Marvin Gaye Songbook will call at Newark Palace Theatre on January 18, for a musical journey back to a golden era of chart-topping songs.
A new show, the songbook is heading into its second year on tour having first taken to the stage in 2024, and will journey back to the music of the 60s when Marivn helped shape the sound of Motown.
It stars West End and X Factor star Nate Simpson — fresh from playing Bob Marley in hit West End musical Get Up, Stand Up — who will faithfully bring the iconic American singer-songwriter and musician’s music to life at the Palace Theatre.
Nate, alongside a superb live band of West End musicians, will respectfully recreate some of Marvin’s most magical hits live on stage.
From I Heard it Through the Grapevine, Sexual Healing, What’s Going On?, right through to Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, Too Busy Thinking About My Baby, and many more, the show is sure to get audiences hot like an oven as they enjoy two hours of musical magic.
The Marvin Gaye Songbook is by hit producers Entertainers, the team behind The Magic of Motown, Lost in Music and Fastlove.
