Children’s theatre show The Ugly Ducking at Nottingham Playhouse

A charming show designed specially for youngsters is set for the stage this winter.

Isabella Waldron’s retelling of the classic tale The Ugly Duckling will be at Nottingham Playhouse in the venue’s Neville Studio from Thursday, December 5, 2024, to Saturday, January 4, 2025.

It is created for children aged three to eight, as the perfect introduction to live theatre.

The Ugly Duckling tells the tale of the newest duckling on the pond, who, to everyone’s surprise, is nothing like the rest of the family.

As the seasons change, the duckling heads out on a mission to find some new friends.

Along the way they encounter some crafty creatures and have exciting adventures before discovering that the best thing to be is yourself.

Full of music, creative captioning and plenty of opportunities to join in, the 50-minute-long show is a festive treat for little ones.
