Christmas feast of festive music and family fun at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall

From panto to ballet, classical music to musical theatre, there’s something for everyone on stage this Christmas.

It is the season to go on a high-flying, swashbuckling pantomime adventure with the Theatre Royal’s family pantomime, Peter Pan, which runs at the venue from December 7 to January 12.

This year’s magical trip to Neverland will star TV fashionista Gok Wan, TV personality and actress Denise Welch, children’s TV favourite Paul Chuckle, and comedy ventriloquist Steve Hewlett.

There’s more heart-warming festive family fun to be be found at Home Alone in Concert on December 8 and The Snowman Live on December 22, magical screenings with a live orchestral performance of the films’ classic scores.

On stage from November 26 to November 30, Northern Ballet’s A Christmas Carol will kickstart the festive season as it reimagines Dickens’ timeless Victorian Christmas tale through dance, music, and storytelling.

Two essential features of the seasonal calendar for classical music fans return this year. On December 12 The Hallé Christmas Concert will bring a festive spectacular of orchestral showpieces, and Sinfonia Viva’s New Year Gala on December 31, will e the year on a high note with a mix of nostalgia and celebration.
