Churches are national treasures
Southwell Minster’s Great Hall is the setting for a talk by the chairman of The Churches Conservation Trust, Loyd Grossman.
Presented by the Nottinghamshire Historic Churches Trust he will give a lecture on The English Parish Church: A National Treasure on Friday, March 23, at 7.30pm.
Loyd is chairman of the Heritage Alliance and the University for the Creative Arts.
He is a former commissioner of English Heritage where he was chairman of the Museums Advisory Committee and the Blue Plaques panel, and of the Royal Commission of the Historical Monuments of England.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Antiquaries and the Royal Society of Arts, a journalist, television presenter and broadcaster.
The secretary of the Nottinghamshire Historic Churches Trust, Andrea Moat, said: “It’s going to be a most interesting evening but tickets are strictly limited by space in the Great Hall.
“We hope there will be an opportunity to chat with Loyd Grossman after his talk.”
