Climbing up social ladder

In Bel Ami (15) Robert Pattinson from the Twilight series of films takes the role of a charming and manipulative Parisien social climber called Georges Duroy, made famous in the classic Guy De Maupassant novel of the same name.
This story of power and seduction in 1890s French society tracks Duroy’s rags-to-riches ascent up the rungs of the social ladder via the beds of the most beautiful and influential women in the city.
Bel Ami, directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, features a stellar cast that includes Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas.
