Comedy at the double

This year’s Nottingham Comedy Festival takes place from September 24 to October 4.

The Comedy Store Players will take part in the event at Nottingham Playhouse on October 4.

Established in 1985 at London’s Comedy Store, the players improvise their entire show based on the audience’s suggestions.

They have no script, no safety net and no idea of what is going to happen. Theatregoers should expect a night of spontaneity, absurdity, off-the-cuff musicals and expertly-crafted mayhem.

The line-up, which is subject to change, includes Josie Lawrence, Richard Vranch, Andy Smart, Stephen Frost and Steve Steen.

Several have appeared on Channel 4’s hit programme, Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Jason Manford will perform at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham, on September 24 and 25 while Armstrong And Miller will take to the stage at the same venue on September 29 as part of the festival.

Other acts taking part in the event will be announced at a later date.
