Comedy venue gaining support
FUNHOUSE comedy returns to Newark with stand-up favourite Rhodri Rhys.
He will appear at the Thanal Restaurant in St Mark’s Lane on February 25, hot on the heels of a sell-out success last month at this new Funhouse venue.
Rhodri’s diverse subject matter, from religion to sport, coupled with his gentle and considered delivery, is a hit with audiences in the UK and abroad.
After swapping the world of chartered surveying for comedy, his rise on the circuit has been brisk.
Joining him is quick-fire act Andy Watson. His penchant for unswerving one-liners and physical performance stands audiences to attention before leaving them in hysterics.
He has toured with Paddy McGuinness and has appeared at the Manchester Comedy Festival.
Compere Spiky Mike said: “Newark is a great place to bring these top-flight comics.
“I hope this venue will go from strength to strength with the support of comedy fans in the area.
“Anyone who books a meal ahead of the gig will get free entry to the fun.”
Food is served from 7.30pm, with the show beginning at 9pm.
