A concert will be taking place at Sutton-on-Trent Library tonight, at 8pm.

Audiences will be treated to an audio-visual performance of Jenny Sturgeon’s The Living Mountain, inspired Nan Shepard’s book of the same name.

Singer, guitarist and harmonium player Jenny Sturgeon has been described by R2 Magazine as “a singer-songwriter who brings together the old and new with a rare skill.”

The first part of the show features Jenny singing her own songs, accompanying herself with a specially built guitar made entirely from reclaimed Scottish wood.

The second part considers human connections with wild places through lyrical and melodic interpretation of the novel and interweaves song with visuals from the Cairngorm Mountains National Park.
