The organisers of the Gate To Southwell Festival have confirmed the date for next year’s festival.

Having taken place in September this year, the 2022 event will take place from July 14-17, again at Kirkington.

It will be the 15th Gate To Southwell Festival.

A spokesman said: “After a lot of head-scratching and with only a couple of weekends really to choose between, we have settled on the middle weekend in July for the 2022 festival.

“We’ll be on on the same glorious site as 2021 and can’t wait to be there again.

“We’ll be increasing the covered areas but keeping the main stage open — and varying the programme to suit.

“Current plans are for bigger covered Folk Stage and some cover at the Frontier Stage. We’ll be reintroducing a “normal” bar too.”

Last year’s line-up included The Young’uns, Gigspanner Big Band and Spiers & Boden.

Early bird tickets are already on sale and line-up announcements will be made soon.

The festival, which hosts local, national and international acts, attracts thousands of people over the five days.

As well as the music, it offers stalls, artisan food, ceilidh, and children’s entertainment.
