Deerstock festival to return

The charity-based boutique music festival Deerstock returns on July 20 and 22.

The event at Newton Cross Country Course is primarily to raise money for good causes but also to give families a chance to experience a music festival, involving camping.

It features the best in unsigned music acts, with more than 30 performing over three stages.

Real ale is a feature, alongside food outlets, many of them local.

Camping is free when tickets are bought.

The Friday acts are Black-balled; Darwins Rejects; Will Whissom; The Shrives; Dirty Vertebrae; Tom McCatney; Bone Cult; Video Tape Machine; The Girl And The Stone; Motormouf; and Shinkicker.

Saturday’s line-up is April Towers; Lois; Jump; Doggen All Stars; The Boutones; Def Goldblum; Sons Of Clogger; John Otway; These Skies; Just Ben; Steve McGill; Rich Watkins; Sasha And The Shades; No Setting Sun; Hoodoo Operators; and Clonk.

Sunday’s line-up is The King Blues; Unknown Era; Headsticks; Black Shiver; Evil Edna; Jake Smallbones; The Skalinskis; Criminal Mind; Static Kill; Junior Bill; Terminal Rage; Yur Mum; The Amber Herd; The Blue Carpet Band; Jess Silk; Paul Carbuncle; and Alex Bradford And Dylan.

Deerstock is run by volunteers and is in its seventh year.
