Robin Hood Theatre, Averham, scoops best play and best director awards at NANDA ceremony

A theatre company has been showered with awards after another successful season.

Following Robin Hood Theatre’s success in the year 2023 with best play and best actress wins for their production of Peggy for You, the 2024 Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Drama Association were another tale of success.

The NANDA awards ceremony took place last month, and saw the Averham-based theatre win play of the year again, for their production of Sherlock Holmes Sign of Four, and best director for Jean Baliol-Key for the same production, best technical presentation also for Sherlock.

There were also numerous honourable mentions, including the lead performances from Simon Carter and Cavan MacLaughlin in their roles as Sherlock and Watson respectively.

Greta Garbo Came to Donegal also had a mention for best newcomer for Tim Hodge for his role in the production, marking an amazing year for the company — thanks to the effort from both front and back of the house at the small community theatre and their hard working volunteers.
