Dreamer takes on new challenge
Television talent show winner turned West End star Lee Mead is bringing his live show to Nottingham. Lee won the BBC’s Any Dream Will Do to land the lead part in the West End production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
He is currently starring in Wicked in the West End.
Lee, 29, will perform hits from his West End triumphs and songs from his double-gold debut album when he takes to the stage at the Royal Concert Hall on February 23.
Likened to a young Michael Ball by the BBC, it is his first time outside of the West End as a solo artist.
Born the son of a cab driver, he auditioned for Any Dream Will Do while performing in The Phantom Of The Opera.
Last year he married Any Dream Will Do judge Denise Van Outen and the couple had a daughter in May.
Following his successful run as Joseph in the West End, Lee took on a new challenge, playing the starring role in a touring revival of Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime.
He returned to the West End in May as Fiyero in Wicked while also pursuing a solo singing career.
On his days off from the musical, Lee has been busy recording his second album.
