Evening of fine curry and plenty of laughs

The weather may be getting wetter and colder and the newspapers full of economic gloom, but the people of Newark will be offered a night of fine curry and lots of laughter.

The award-winning monthly Magners Funhouse Comedy Club returns to the Thanal Restaurant in St Mark’s Precinct, Newark, on Thursday, November 11.

Headlining the show is Blackpool-based funnyman Greg Cook. He looks like a club bouncer, but he is more likely to floor punters with his razor-sharp wit.

Hilarious stories and gags galore have made him a highly popular act on the comedy circuit with many people describing him as Les Dawson for the 21st Century.

Also on the bill are Scouser Ste Porter and compère Alan Seaman.

Anyone booking a meal before the show for 7.30pm is given free admission to the comedy night, which starts at 9pm. Alternatively tickets are available at the door.

The Magners Funhouse Comedy Club then transfers to Grange Farm at Hockerton on Saturday, November 20, where there will be performances from comedians Mandy Muden, Ronnie Golden and compère Spiky Mike. The show starts at 9pm.
