Film masterclass

A masterclass in the art of body casting for film, theatre and television will be held on October 19 at Nottingham Trent University.

It will be delivered by the man who led the team on the original Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Superman movies.

Ken Clarke has worked with some of the film industry’s biggest names, including Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Richard Attenborough, Roman Polansky, James Cameron, Jim Henson, Terry Gilliam, Stanley Kubrick, Frank Oz and Ridley Scott.

Those on the course will be introduced to body casting, with up-close demonstrations using specialist materials and innovative techniques.

There will be a live demonstration of part of a man’s chest and shoulder being moulded, plus a chance to examine the process and interact with the tutor and model.

The class will include talks about the film industry.
