British folk duo Ferris and Sylvester coming to Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms ahead of second album release ‘Otherness’
A musical husband and wife duo will be hitting the road ahead of the release of their highly anticipated second album.
Ferris and Sylvester are one of the brightest up and coming British folk acts around after their debut album won the ‘UK Album of the Year’ at the 2023 UK Americana Awards.
Now, ahead of the release of their second album ‘Otherness’ on March 1, they will be coming to the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham on February 28, as part of their UK wide tour.
Two singles from the album have already been release, ‘Rain’ and the country-style love song ‘Headache’ which features heartfelt vocals and harmonies.
One half of the act, Issy Ferris, said: ‘‘We wrote ‘Headache’ after an argument.
“As a husband and wife band, we wanted to write something truthful about relationships, inspired by old-school country love songs.
“I remember saying to Archie, ‘I want Dolly Parton to hear this song and like it’.
“That's what inspired us to write it.”
The seven track album defies simple genre expectations and explores a wealth of emotions inspired, in part, by major health issues as their son was born prematurely while they were on tour in Nashville.
The album’s out-of-time sound is heightened by recording direct to a 1960s tape machine, and is available to pre-order now.
