Free launch concert to kick off another year of Southwell Music Festival

A popular music festival returns this summer to fill a town with music delights — starting with a free launch concert.

Southwell Music Festival returns from Friday, August 22, to Monday, August 25, and plans for the musical event are to be announced at the free launch concert.

The launch concert will take place in Southwell Minster, on Friday, May 16, and is open to everyone.

Festival director Marcus Farnsworth will share the plans for the 2025 festival, alongside sublime music from the festival’s String Apprentices, Telyn Quartet, and associate artistic director, Jamie Campbell.

The concert will also see the introduction of Southwell Music Festival's new patron, Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason, who will share a few words about her passion for music.
