Furniture makers ready for battle

Three top designers will take part in a fast, furious and fascinating furniture making event at The Harley Gallery, Welbeck, a week on Saturday.

Ready, Steady, Bodge, will see award-winners Gareth Neal, Chris Eckersley and William Warren show visitors how to make furniture quickly in the gallery courtyard from 10am to 4pm.

The trio are used to making sleek, polished work, but will create spontaneous furniture that is inspired by bodging, but far from traditional.

The demonstrations run alongside an exhibition called The Bodging Project, which features their work.

Visitors can either watch the woodworking whizzes or book to have a go themselves.

At the same time 11 of the Harley Studios will be open for visitors to explore, there will be entertainment by musicians from Nottingham’s Guitar Bar and there will be a display on Creswell Crags and food and drink stalls.

Parking and entry to the event is free.
