Gone fishing in The Yemen

In the comedy, Salmon Fishing In The Yemen (12A) Ewan McGregor stars as a repressed British civil servant who is unwillingly coerced into an incredible scheme.

This is to introduce salmon to the parched wadis of The Yemen to make a fishing-mad sheik’s dream come true, and also help land better relationships between the respective countries.

The film follows his struggle against the current to realise the idea against all the odds.

Directed by Lasse Hallstrom, it stars Emily Blunt, Kristin Scott Thomas and Amr Waked. Salmon Fishing In The Yemen can be seen at Newark’s Odeon Cinema.
