The Newark-based Argent Theatre staged Tim Firth’s Calendar Girls at the Grove School’s Lilley and Stone site in the town and raised £1,000 for Beaumond House Community Hospice.

The group decided to support the organisation as the show tackled issues around leukaemia.

A dance show, Shake Your Tail Feather, staged by Elaine Varney’s Kids And Co, held at the Palace Theatre, Newark, helped raise £124.86 for Sue’s Place, Newark, from donations of programmes.
