This year’s Nottinghamshire Historic Churches Trust summer party takes place at Holme Pierrepont Hall.

The Grade 1 listed manor house, set in 30 acres of parkland and with its own interesting church within the grounds, is the home of Mr and Mrs Robert Brackenbury.

The event, a week today, starts with a drinks reception in the hall and gardens from 6.30pm.

There will be a talk in the church by Dr Jenny Alexander on the monuments recently restored with the help of the trust.

Mr Brackenbury will tell anecdotes of his forebears and their memorials.

Trust chairman Richard Brackenbury said: “The summer party is a popular event for the trust’s friends and supporters.

“Last year we were joined by over 100 guests and we hope to top that this year.

“We are delighted to be able to hold the event at Holme Pierrepont Hall and are extremely grateful to the Brackenbury family — no relation.”

The trust was founded in 1986 to raise money to grant-aid historic churches and chapels in Nottinghamshire. Anyone wanting to attend the summer party should call 01909 472324 or email nhct@hotmail.com
