The gruelling experiences of 14 Lincolnshire convicts who were among the first to be transported to Australia in 1788 are relived through a powerful drama at the Drill Hall, Lincoln, from Wednesday, September 22 to Saturday, September 25.
Our Country’s Good is based upon the historical events surrounding the establishment of the first British settlement in Australia, made up of convicts and officers who endured a 252-day sea voyage over 15,000 miles.
Directed by Geoff Readman of North Muskham, it is being performed by the Lincoln Mystery Plays Company.
