Amy Winehouse’s mother to appear alongside heartfelt tribute act at Unity Fest, Newark Showground
Janis Winehouse, mother of the legendary Amy Winehouse, is to appear on stage in Newark.
Unity Fest 2025, which takes place from July 3 to 6 at Newark Showground, will this year celebrate legendary women in music stellar line-up of female tribute acts — from Annie Lennox to Madonna.
The festival, now in its fifth year, aims to bring together lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer women, and non binary people, to create a safe space with a wide variety of entertainment, live music acts, exciting activities and fun workshops.
Laura Jane Butler, one of the longest-running and most heartfelt Amy Winehouse tribute acts is among the line-up, and she will perform at 7.30pm on Saturday night.
Janis, who shares a powerful personal and professional bond with Laura, will be backstage soaking up the atmosphere and the emotional tribute — and in a very special moment, she’ll step onto the stage herself to speak about their unique relationship and their shared mission to honour Amy’s legacy.
Together, Janis and Laura have raised over £50,000 for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the charity Janis founded to support young people and families affected by addiction.
