Over the course of his five decade long career, the songs of Paul Weller have become synonymous with the British sound, during his time with The Jam and later as a solo artist.

With eight chart topping albums and a slew of BRIT and Ivor Novello Awards, this is a performer not to be missed.

Natalie Oliver, executive member for culture at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “We absolutely cannot wait to welcome Paul Weller to Lincoln for this very special show.

“With a career spanning more than 50 years, he is one of our most influential songwriters and having his concert here is huge for the city.

Blur bassist, Alex James, will be bringing the biggest hits of the Britpop era to life on Thursday, June 18.

Heading out on the road for a first ever UK tour, his Britpop Classical group will feature a full live orchestra, band and guest vocalists and put on a one-of-a-kind live experience.

Classic tunes from Blur, Oasis and Pulp, to Supergrass and The Verve will be performed in a powerful symphonic format alongside the London Concert Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Alex James said: “Somehow all of these songs mean more to people now than they did when they were first released.

“They really resonate with my kids' generation too. Bringing them back to life with a symphony orchestra, a kick ass band, some old friends and very special guests totally blew the roof off at Festival and I absolutely cannot wait to get this show on the road.”

With a genre-defying blend of ska, pop and punk, and a catalogue packed with timeless hits, they’ve become one of the nation’s most enduring and adored bands.

Mark Harrison, of promoter Cuffe and Taylor, said: "Madness are the ultimate crowd-pleasers — their live shows are pure joy, packed with hits and full of character.

“They headlined an incredible show here at Lincoln Castle in 2024 and ever since fans have been asking for them to return, so we are thrilled to be welcoming them back to this spectacular setting.

“We can’t wait to see everyone bouncing once again to the sound of one of music’s most legendary bands.”
