Open-air play full of mystery and romance
The Lincoln-based Chapterhouse Theatre Company returns to Newark as part of its 11th season of touring.
The group will stage Shakespeare’s The Merchant Of Venice in the castle grounds on Wednesday, August 18 at 7.30pm.
This open-air production, directed by Paul Wetherby, features music by company director Richard Main and lots of mystery, drama, romance and comedy.
In the cast is Miles Eagling, a former chorister at Southwell Minster and pupil at The Minster School, as Shylock.
The grounds open at 6pm for anyone wanting to have a picnic before the performance.
Theatregoers are asked to bring their own chairs or rugs to sit on and warm clothing in case it gets colder later in the evening.
Tickets are available from the Palace Theatre, Newark, Newark Tourist Information Centre or See Tickets on 0871 2200260.
Last month the company was at Sconce and Devon Park, Newark, to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
