Passionate painter aims to aid charities

An artist with a passion for painting flowers and views from her holidays has been giving some of her work away to help various charities.

Anna Sanders, of St Peter’s Close, Farndon, is hoping to move to Cornwall later this year and says she cannot take all her pieces with her.

Over the years she has exhibited in Newark Town Hall’s Spotlight Gallery, The Gilstrap Centre, Newark, and even in The Wheatsheaf pub in the town.

She uses a mixed medium — oils, acrylics, watercolours and beads. All her paintings are impressionistic and inspired by her favourite artist, Monet.

Anna said: “I have always loved painting but started taking it more seriously about ten years ago. I love painting flowers and do landscapes of the places I have been.

“As I am moving from the area I am trying to sell or give some of my paintings away to help charities. About 20 of them have already gone to the YMCA in Newark and to a dog rescue centre in Peterborough.

“I am hoping to have an open studios event at home in the summer where people can look at and buy my paintings.

“If any charities want to come and view my work and take some paintings away to sell to raise money for their worthwhile causes, they need only contact me.

“I have about 50 more at home, although some of the bigger paintings will be coming to Cornwall with me.”

Anyone wanting to take Anna up on her offer should call her on 01636 673013.
