Tell It To The Bees performed at Hockerton Village Hall as part of Live And Local scheme
There is a real buzz for the latest show heading to Hockerton Village Hall later this month.
Tell It To The Bees is performed by Pyn Stockman and Kate Luxmoore on Saturday, January 18, from 6.30pm.
This lively, funny and thought-provoking show is a set of interlinked stories inspired by folk tales, true life accounts and encounters with bees both in folklore and the natural world.
It's about travelling forward, hope, and life whilst still remembering those that have gone before.
Expect shapeshifting magic, wise women, and bee lore, nature imagery, beautiful soundscapes and enchanting words. It is a marvellous, magical yet believable world where you will find a lad on a path he cannot escape, a feisty young girl with a secret, a fox with a tale and a king bound by his beard. How can they all become free?
Tickets costing £12.50 (£10.50 concessions) are available from 01636 816902, The Spread Eagle Pub at Hockerton, or Hockerton Housing Project.
On the same evening, at East Bridgford Village Hall is a screening of Freud's Last Session (12A) also at 6.30pm.
Starring Anthony Hopkins and Matthew Goode, it is set on the eve of the second world war when two of the greatest minds of the 20th Century - psychologist Sigmund Freud and author C.S. Lewis - come together for a charged conversation about love, family and the existence of God.
The film portrays a fictitious meeting of the minds, told via flashbacks of key points in the lives of both men.
Both performances are part of Live And Local, an intiative that brings music and drama to rural venues.
