One of the best Queen tribute bands in the UK will take part in a charity concert next month.

Mercury, starring Joseph Lee Jackson, of Newark, as Freddie Mercury, will play at the Concert For Life on April 4, at Nottingham’s Rock City.

All profits will go to CLIC Sargent to help projects in and around Nottingham for children with cancer and their families.

Joseph said Mercury were only too happy to help such a worthy cause and looked forward to playing at Rock City.

He said: “We hope as many people as possible will turn up and support CLIC Sargent.”

Mercury will be joined by U2 tribute band ZU2, Madness tribute group Baggy Trousers, Sam Beeton, The Nathan Wall Band, Scor Zay Zee and others.

Organiser Ben Hicklin said: “Although we are in our ninth year, we are constantly amazed by the amount of people willing to give their time and energy for free, to help us raise money for such a worthy cause. Without them, this event simply could not work.”

Tickets cost £12 in advance or £14 on the door.

The concert will feature some of Queen’s most popular hits including Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, I Want To Break Free, We Are The Champions, Under Pressure and We Will Rock You.
