Singer-songwriter Chantel McGregor to perform at Southside, Lincoln, after launch of third studio album The Healing
After revealing a whole new side of herself both musically and emotionally, a singer-songwriter is sharing her new sound with live audiences.
Chantel McGregor, a Yorkshire-born guitarist, singer and songwriter, has spent the last 15 years carving a reliable presence on the gig circuit and at festivals, across the length and breadth of the country.
Now, she’s released her third studio album The Healing — a raw, defiant rock sound to build on her previous blues — and will perform at Southside, Lincoln, on November 20 as part of a UK tour.
“This is definitely a rock album — not a blues album,” said Chantel.
“It’s heavy and dark and it introduces elements of prog-rock, which is a form of music I absolutely love.”
The album is a break from tradition in more ways that one, as Chantel also involved co-producer guitarist Oli Brown and Wayne Proctor, both of The Dead Collective, in the songwriting process.
Regular band-mates Colin Sutton, on bass, and Thom Gardner, on drums, also feature.
