Stories of farming through the ages

Storytelling, puppetry and original music combine to tell the magical story of the bonds linking grandfather to grandson and both to the land.

Written by former Children’s Laureate Michael Morpurgo, Farm Boy will be staged in Lambley Village Hall on Thursday, October 7 at 7.30pm by the New Perspectives Theatre Company.

It sometimes felt as though time had stood still down on the family farm — swallows were nesting in their eaves, the old tractor was rusting at the back of the barn and grandfather was still tending his chickens.

That was until the summer his grandson finished school and came to stay. The old man began telling stories of what it had been like on the farm when he was a boy.

The production is part of Village Ventures.
