Svengali ready to weave his magic on fans
Fans are in for a theatrical rollercoaster ride when the acknowledged master of pyschological illusion returns to the stage with his hit show, Derren Brown: Svengali.
He once again sets out to show why he is one of the world’s most renowned live performers — a master of magic, mind control and manipulation.
The show is at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham, from Monday, May 21, to Saturday, May 26, at 8pm.
Derren admits that touring is the highlight of his year.
He said: “I enjoy the TV, but there’s nothing like doing a live show every night, constantly finding ways of improving it, and, of course, having the immediate feedback of an audience.
“Plus without it, it would be easy for people to think it’s the kind of stuff that only works on TV. I’d actually go as far as to say it’s better to see on stage.”
Over the years Derren has wowed audiences with his unique brand of intelligent and theatrical entertainment on stage and on television.
His Channel 4 series’ and live shows have garnered rave reviews and awards. His specials have provoked much controversy and acclaim and further consolidated his reputation as a performer prepared to constantly challenge and break boundaries.
He has also released the best-selling books, Tricks Of The Mind and Confessions Of A Conjuror and had success in America, when his show Derren Brown: Mind Control, was screened on the Sci Fi Channel.
In January last year Channel 4 marked ten years of Derren Brown on television with Behind The Mischief, an exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary, followed by the best ever Derren Brown special as chosen by his fans online.
