Taking first dance steps
Interview by Dawn Bond
One of the UK’s favourite children’s presenters is on the road with his all-dancing and all-singing show.
Boogie Beebies’ Pete Hillier, known as Boogie Pete, will be at Lincoln Theatre Royal on Saturday, November 20, at 2pm.
The interactive performance is designed to get children up on their feet and dancing to different songs.
It aims to get youngsters out of their seats with pop songs specially created for them, encouraging an interest in dance, healthy movement and singing.
Pete is one of the two original presenters of the BBC show, of which 80 episodes were filmed.
Although best known for his role on the programme, he has performed in the West End, and has been a presenter, choreographer, teacher and stand-up comedian.
Pete, 33, said: “Boogie Pete — Live! is very much an audience participation show. We encourage children to get up and join in with the movements I do on stage along with all the characters who make an appearance. There’s even some in-gags for the parents to enjoy.
“It is a lot of fun and there will be some moves, some magic and plenty of silliness. The show only lasts 50 minutes so the children do not get bored.”
After the show there will be a meet and greet with Pete.
