Talent search
Entries are already pouring in for this year’s Newark’s Got Talent, but organisers want to hear from more speciality acts.
Singers, dancers and comedians have already entered the contest, which will take place in October and November.
Organiser Martin Seymour, 20, of Newark Arts Forum, said: “We would like more specialist artistes to enter the competition to give the audience a wide range of acts to watch.
“Everyone who enters will have to perform in front of a panel of judges and the audience in the heats, semi-final and grand final.”
The judges will choose the top 13 acts to go through to the final, before the audience selects the ultimate winner.
The heats take place at The Magnus School, Newark, on October 11 and 12, with the semi-finals at the school on October 13, all at 7pm.
The final, hosted by Howard Newport from Boundary Sound, will be staged at the Palace Theatre, Newark, on Sunday, November 7 at 7pm.
The winner will receive £250, the runner-up £100 and the third-placed act will receive £50.
Application forms are available from Chuckles in The Buttermarket, Newark, or www.newarksgottalent.co.uk
The deadline for entries is October 2.
