21st Century Abba and An Evening of Motown comes to Southwell Minster





There is a whole host of musical entertainment coming up at Southwell Minster in the coming days.

It starts on Sunday with Music In The State Chamber with Alex Bradford, from 7.30pm.

Alex is currently studying piano at the Royal Northern College of Music with Frank Wibaut. He gave his first recital aged 14 at Newark, Parish Church and recently returned to perform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No 2.

He also enjoys singing, and recently sang Ligeti’s Requiem as part of the RNCM Chamber Choir at the BBC Proms.

His programme at the minster includes music by Kapustin, Prokofiev, and works from the Classical period.

There is free admission with retiring collection.

Then on Thursday (July 11) 21st Century Abba, the award-winning live Abba tribute band, return to The Palace Gardens to play all the best songs from the super Swedes.

That is followed on Friday (July12) there is An Evening of Motown in the Palace Gardens.

Capitol Motown and Soul Band will perform timeless tunes of Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin and many more.

Please bring your own low backed chairs or picnic rugs to sit on.
