Time travel at castle

Following last year’s popular event, the doors of Newark Castle will once again creak open to reveal hidden treasures that rarely see the light of day.
The Time Travel Trent Vale event takes place on Saturday, July 28, from 10am to 4pm, and is free.
Visitors will be able to take a tour of the infamous dungeons, while re-enactors will bring history to life as medieval musicians and Roman soldiers — giving people a chance to see the sights and sounds of history through the ages.
The event, part of the Festival of British Archaeology, returns for a third year, thanks to money from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
