Actress and singer Tina Hall to perform Tina’s Ultimate Rock Show in hometown of Southwell
A singer and actress is looking forward to an emotional homecoming gig as part of her latest tour.
Tina Hall, who was born in Newark and grew up in Southwell where she attended the Minster School, will be performing in the Minster grounds this summer.
Known for her acting roles in season two of Netflix’s Toy Boy, a seven-year stint in Channel 5 soap Family Affairs, and a role in BBC One’s Doctors, as well as on TV in Spain, the performer will be back at The Palace Gardens on June 15 to belt out a host of classic hits in Tina's Ultimate Rock Show.
Tina said: “It’s very rare that a show actually has the opportunity to come back to your hometown. It’s such an emotional and special show because all your family and friends are there.”
Having attended weekly school assemblies at the church as a student, she explained that performing in the venue was her chance to give back to the town.
“The Palace Gardens is the most amazing venue,” she added.
The sell-out show has visited the venue in both 2021 and 2022, and audiences will once again be treated to a range of rock and roll classics — including hits by Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Nicks, Journey, T. Rex, David Bowie and Blondie.
Dubbed the ‘rock chick’, Tina promises this year’s show will be bigger and better than ever — and she wants to bring a smile to everyone’s faces.
“I love making people happy, music is therapy,” Tina said.
“There’s always been singing in my life.
“I’ve always done this alongside acting. I could never do one without the other. It’s my passion, music and the arts.
“It’s in my DNA.”
The actress has also been a competitor on La Voz, the Spanish iteration of The Voice, in 2017, where she performed ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’, and received the Marbella Loves Award for her contribution to the arts and entertainment industry in Malaga in 2018.
It’s not only Southwell she is returning to on this tour — with plans underway for her to close out the tour at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena in December.
Tina added: “I feel really blessed, it’s my home city. It’s amazing.”
