Top comedians at festival
The third Lincoln Comedy Festival has announced the first wave of shows for this year’s event.
Taking place from October 7 to 12 tickets for shows by Ardal O’Hanlon, Sarah Millican and Stewart Francis have gone on sale.
Once again the festival brings some of the country’s best comedy performers to Lincoln with a range of styles and shows to offer something for everyone.
O’Hanlon, from Father Ted and My Hero, will perform at the Drill Hall on October 9.
Millican who recently completed a short Radio 4 run and appeared on Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You and The Bubble can be seen at the Drill Hall on October 8.
Francis will close the festival on October 12 with a performance at The Engine Shed.
The Suck It And See weekend programme of events is back.
Acts confirmed to date including Chortle Comedy Award winner Jarred Christmas, Lee Nelson from BBC3’s Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show, Al Pitcher, a sketch show called The Ginge, The Geordie And The Geek and the Boy With Tape On His Face.
Director Shaun Almey said: “The festival has teamed up with the University of Lincoln to put on a comedy symposium on October 9 which will take place at the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre.
“This is a first for the festival but something that will hopefully become a regular part of the festival programme.
“The festival begins with a Best Of Red Herring Comedy Club event on October 7 featuring Canadian Tom Stade and Carl Donnelly.”
