What a great night. The Palace Theatre, Newark, was packed almost to capacity. The crowd, varying in age from five to 85, applauded in anticipation as Abba Forever began.

The stage was alight with a huge illuminated Abba Forever sign, complemented intermittently with the band’s name.

The show got off to a glitzy and glamorous start with Waterloo. The all-live outstanding female vocals from Anni-Frid and Agnetha sent the audience wild with delight.

Tight white outfits trimmed with shimmering gold and complemented by, of course, the obligatory platforms, dazzled.

During the performance the band on electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, piano and drums had their turn to shine with their instrumental pieces.

The second half was no disappointment. There was some great costume changes and lively non-stop choreography.

This Abba tribute show finally drew to an end with one of the best and well-known songs of Abba’s time — Dancing Queen. Everybody was up on their feet, dancing, clapping, and singing along. This was a fantastic end to a well-polished and lively non-stop performance.

This was a wonderful, timeless, bright and entertaining two-hour spectacular performed by a group of six.

After the show they spent time meeting fans, posing for photographs and signing autographs. May Abba live on forever — WB.
