Unlocked Festival to go ahead at Newark Showground, featuring The Feeling, Ministry Of Sound Classical, Go West and Republica

With a detailed roadmap out of coronavirus restrictions published, organisers of the aptly-named Unlocked Fest have been given the green light to go ahead.

Organisers have tweaked the original format to ensure it can go ahead safely — but promise the festival vibe will still be there.

Unlocked Fest will take place June 18-20 at Newark Showground.

Headliners already confirmed include Ministry of Sound Classical, The Feeling and Inner City.

The line-up also features Go West, Space, Dario G, Craig Charles, Five, Sonique, Phats & Small, Sonia, Republica and Big Brovaz.

Sociably-distanced pods, for up to four or six people, will fill the festival’s main arena to meet guidelines.

Festival director Steve Yeardsley said: “Our priority is to keep everyone absolutely safe whilst delivering an incredible festival.

“We were always going to have more space than you would normally expect, the intention is for it to feel a bit more luxurious than your average festival hence the playlist vibe to the line-up, artisan food and drinks, spacious campsites, parking nearby, etc.

“It will be a boutique event set against the backdrop of an amazing stage showcasing great music.

“We have been planning for different scenarios ever since we launched Unlocked Fest back in October 2020. With venue and artist availability the least flexible part of our plans, the June 21 date announcement meant transitioning to a socially-distanced format was the only real option.

“Festival goers will head to a pod, essentially a designated area in the arena, when they arrive and that will become their spot for the day.

“Adjacent pods will be two metres away, so they’ll feel completely safe.”

The three-day event has a line-up full of the UK’s biggest tracks from the 1980s, 90s and 2000s, performed by a combination of original and tribute artists.

Billed as the ultimate feel good weekender, the festival will bring together a heady mix of well-known headliners, top DJs and tribute acts.

All weekend tickets come complete with free camping, relevant to the ticket type purchased.

with prices starting from £561 for a pod for up to four people. Individual day tickets for Friday, Saturday or Sunday are also available. For news and updates follow @UnlockedFestUK on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or visit unlockedfest.co.uk.
