Villagers turned out in force for this year’s Cowslip Sunday at Lambley. It was a great day, the sun shone and there were record numbers throughout.

One of the highlights was the Cowslip Procession, led by Fred Swan as Lambley Jack, followed by an outdoor performance at The Dumbles of the pantomime, Lambley Jack And The Golden Stockings — written and directed by organiser David Longford.

Others in the production included Kate Swan as Lambley Jill, Jason Wrightam as Lambley Lil, Emily Brown as Lambley Jane and Emma Carlton as Queen Elizabeth I.

The majority of the audience rated the show as hilarious and were still laughing about it much later. The Victorian tradition of Cowslip Sunday began three years ago and grows bigger and better every year — DL.
