Lunchtime At The Cathedral returns to Southwell Minster with a performance by Matthew Farrell
Lunchtime At The Cathedral returns to Southwell Minster a week tomorrow (September 24) with a performance by Matthew Farrell.
The concert starts at the new time of 1.30pm.
The programme is a selection of pieces that show the various styles of writing for the Viola da Gamba, from the earliest Spanish Rececar to the Abel Arpeggiata.
Matthew will play three instruments during this performance, showing the varied repertoire for different types of viols — a treble, six-stringed bass, and and a seven-stringed bass.
Matthew graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in July 2020
Admission is free, but donations to a retiring collection will be invited, towards the cathedral’s organ scholarship.
