Women only needed for play
An open audition for the next Robin Hood Theatre Company play will be held at The Cross Keys, Upton, on Tuesday, September 7 at 7.30pm.
The play, Bazaar And Rummage, by Sue Townsend, needs six women aged 25 to 60.
It will be staged at The Grove School’s Lilley and Stone site in Newark from November 24 to 27, with rehearsals starting mid-September.
The comedy, written by the author of The Secret Diaries Of Adrian Mole Aged 133/4, is being directed by Rachel Repper of Newark.
It tells the story of a group of agrophobics who have been persuaded to venture out of their homes to run a jumble sale as therapy.
Rachel chose to direct the play because of the richness of the female characters and the quality of Sue’s comic writing.
Rachel said: “I also wanted a play I could stage in the round, and where I could go a bit further by seating the audience in the midst of the action.
“Using the large auditorium at the Lilley and Stone site, which is exactly the sort of place you would hold a jumble sale, enables me to do that and provides us with the perfect setting.”
Anyone interested in auditioning or would like more details should ring Rachel on 07769 881087.
