Man from Newark arrested after two people are bottled in separate assaults
A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with two separate assaults involving bottles.
Police were called to a report that a 22-year-old man suffered cuts to his head and hands after being struck with a glass bottle at a property in Chatham Court, Newark, just after 11pm yesterday (Thursday).
A man left the scene and the victim was taken to King's Mill Hospital, Sutton-in-Ashfield, for treatment to his injuries, which are not life-threatening or life-altering.
Officers then received a report of a bottle being thrown at a 22-year-old woman, causing bruising and swelling above her eye, at the Rutland Arms pub in Barnbygate, Newark, at 11.24pm yesterday.
Officers attended and arrested a man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the first incident and causing actual bodily harm in connection with the second incident.
He remains in police custody.
